U. S. Army, Corps of Engineers Histories covering Canals & Navigations

One of the great sources of information on historic canals and navigations are the histories of engineering districts published by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This began as a  bicentennial project in the early 1970's, but additional updates and more focused histories have been added.
